Open Invitations: Share a Link So Candidates Can Interview Anytime
Open Invitations let you create a shareable link for your interview. Anyone with the link can record a WedgeHR video interview on their own time, without you needing to send individual email or SMS invites.
This is one of the fastest ways to get candidates into your pipeline. Instead of inviting candidates one by one, you share a single link and let them come to you.
Where to find your Open Invitation link
- Go to Interviews and select the interview you want to share.
- Click Interview Settings.
- Select the Invites tab.
- Toggle Open Invitations on.
Your shareable link will appear at the bottom of the page under Invitation Link.

Customize your link
By default, your link includes a random string of characters. You can edit it to match your role and company name so it looks clean when you share it.
For example: https://record.interview.video/j/marketing-director
On Pro and Enterprise plans, your link will use a custom domain with your company name: https://yourcompany.interview.video/j/marketing-director
Either way, customizing the slug (the part after /j/ ) is optional, but it helps candidates feel confident they are clicking a legitimate link.
Turn Open Invitations off
If you are done collecting responses, toggle Open Invitations off. Anyone who clicks the link after that will see a message that the position has been closed.
You can turn it back on anytime.
Multiple Invites
By default, a candidate can only record one response per Open Invitation link. If you want candidates to be able to come back and record again, turn on Multiple Invites.
When you toggle this on, the Invite Frequency dropdown will appear. This controls how often a candidate can re-record using the same link.
When Multiple Invites makes sense:
- You use the same Open Invitation link across several job listings in your ATS.
- You have a long-standing open role that you are always hiring for.
- You want to let candidates reapply after a set period.

Tips and best practices
Add the link to your ATS email templates. Copy your Open Invitation URL and paste it into the automated email or SMS template that goes out when someone applies in your ATS. Every applicant will get a link to record a WedgeHR interview automatically, with no manual invites needed. This is the fastest way to screen at scale.
Drop it into your job posting. Paste the link directly in the job description or application confirmation page. Candidates can start their WedgeHR interview the moment they finish applying, while their interest is highest.
Send it over text. If your candidates respond better to SMS, paste the Open Invitation link into a text message. It works on any device, no app or login required.
Use a clean, branded link. Take a moment to customize your link before sharing it. A link that includes your company name and role title looks more professional and builds trust with candidates.
Pair it with a short call to action. When sharing the link, keep the message simple. Something like: "We'd love to learn more about you. Record a quick video interview when you have a few minutes." Candidates are more likely to follow through when the ask is clear and low pressure.
