Duplicate an Interview
When you have an interview set up the way you like it, you don't need to build the next one from scratch. Duplicating an interview copies all of your settings and questions into a new interview, ready for you to adjust and go live.
This is especially useful when you are hiring for similar roles across teams or locations.
What gets copied (and what does not)
When you duplicate an interview, WedgeHR copies everything about how the interview is configured:
- Interview name (with "copy" added so you can tell them apart)
- Brand
- Team and Location
- Interview Playlist (your questions)
- Recording settings
- Invite settings
What does not carry over: Candidates and invitations. The new interview starts completely fresh, with no candidate data from the original.
How to duplicate an interview
- Go to your Interviews page and select the interview you want to copy.
- Click Interview Settings from the left sidebar.
- On the Details tab, scroll to the bottom and click Duplicate.
- A panel will open on the right with your interview's settings pre-filled. Review and update anything you need to change. Most teams update the Interview Name and may adjust the Team or Location.
- Click Create.
Your new interview will appear at the top of your Interviews page.
Good to know: The new interview starts with the Enable Interview toggle turned off. This gives you a chance to review everything before candidates can access it. When you are ready, go to Interview Settings > Details and toggle Enable Interview on.

Tips
- Use clear names. Replace "copy" with something specific, like the location or department. "Customer Service Rep - Austin" is easier to find later than "Customer Service Rep copy."
- Check your playlist. If the new role needs different questions, swap the Interview Playlist before going live.
- Remember to enable. The most common next step people forget is turning the interview on. Candidates will see an "unavailable" message until you do.
What's next
- Interview Settings to review or adjust the new interview's configuration.
- Invite Candidates to an Interview to start sending invitations.
- Interview Playlists to customize questions for the new role.
