Wedge is excited to introduce AI Summaries, a new feature designed to save time and improve collaboration during the candidate review process. This AI-powered tool automatically generates concise summaries of candidate responses in Wedge interviews, giving you a quick overview of key insights without the need to rewatch the entire video. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to enable, use, and get the most out of this feature.

What Are AI Summaries?

AI Summaries generate short, ~250-character summaries of candidate responses in Wedge interviews. These summaries provide a quick overview, helping you recall key points without rewatching the full video.

Key Features:

  • Automated Summaries: Automatically processes interviews from the last 90 days when enabled.
  • On-Demand Summarization: Use the “Summarize” button to generate summaries for older interviews.
  • Visible Everywhere: Summaries are accessible on both logged-in dashboards and public share links.
  • Included for All Customers: No additional cost—this feature is part of your Wedge subscription!

How to Enable AI Summaries

AI Summaries can only be enabled by Account Owners and Admins. Once enabled, all Team Members can see and use the summaries. There are two ways to enable the AI Summaries feature, both are explained below: 

Option 1: On an Individual Wedge Interview Page

  • Open the specific Wedge interview you’d like to be summarized.
  • Click the Enable Wedge AI and Summarize  button.
  • Once enabled, you will be able to click on summarize button below the Wedge and the summary will appear.

Option 2: In the Wedge AI tab on the Settings Page

  • Go to the Wedge AI Settings page.
  • Find the “Wedge AI” toggle.
  • Click Enable Wedge AI to toggle the feature ON for all eligible interviews.

Disable AI Summaries

Should you want to disable the AI Summaries feature, you can do that at any time. Follow the steps below to disable the feature for your account.

  • Navigate to the Wedge AI tab on the Settings page.
  • Click Disable Wedge AI.
  • Summaries will no longer be generated, or visible.

How to Use AI Summaries

  • View Summaries: After enabling the feature, summaries will be accessible right below candidate responses on the Wedge Viewer page.
  • On-Demand Summarization: For interviews older than 90 days, click the Summarize button on the interview page to generate summaries.

Feedback on Summaries: Use the thumbs up/down button to rate the quality of summaries and help us improve the feature.

Privacy and Security

Your privacy is our priority. Here’s how we ensure your data remains secure:

  • No Data Sharing for Model Training: Customer data is not used to train the models that are used to generate the summaries.
  • Controlled Access: Summaries are only visible to your team.
  • Secure Processing: Summaries are processed using an AI language model in a safe and private manner.
  • Consent: The AI Summaries feature will only be activated in a Wedge account if explicitly opted in by the Account Owner.
