A great way to customize the Wedge interview flow for candidates is by adding your own custom questions, we highly recommend it! Read on for steps on how to upload your own!

๐Ÿ’ก A note on custom uploads: uploading custom questions is not Job-specific, so once questions are uploaded they will be available for all Jobs.

How to Create Custom Questions

Follow the steps below to add a custom question to your library:

  • Locate and click on the orange + Create Question button on the top of the page.

  • Decide whether you'd like to upload a video or create a text-only question.

    • If you'd like to upload a video (or multiple) you can drag and drop it from your files or use the browse files link on the page.

  • Type a question title into the Internal Title field.

    • This will appear when you hover over the question and is a really helpful shortcut for remembering which question is which.

  • Type the question you'd like candidates to answer into the Question Text field.

  • Click the Create button.

    • If you'd like to add another question, click the + button on the bottom left of the screen and repeat the process!

Adding Custom Questions to the Lineup

You can add your custom questions to your lineup the same way you do other questions, by opening up the Custom category and selecting them.

Helpful Info

Recording your own custom questions

There are several ways you can record a custom question video, including, but not limited to, a mobile device, webcam, and professional recording equipment. All are great options, just make sure you are in a quiet, well-lit area without any distractions in the background.

๐Ÿ’ก Note: video files must be either .mp4 or .mov, in order to be uploaded.

Accessibility

For accessibility reasons, it is very important that the question text match the question you ask in the video exactly. This question text will be shown verbatim to candidates in the recording process, in the case that they can't hear the video, this is the only way they will know the question.

Internal Title

When creating custom questions, you'll see the option to add an Internal Title. This can be really helpful if you are adding multiple of the same questions but want to be able to use them for different Jobs.
