Setting up the WedgeHR Extension

The WedgeHR Extension lets you send interview invitations directly from your ATS or browser, without switching between tabs. It takes about 30 seconds to set up.

The WedgeHR Extension works with Chrome and Edge. We're exploring support for other browsers.

What you'll need

  • Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
  • A WedgeHR account

That's it. No support or IT tickets, no configuration files.

Step 1: Install the extension

Go to wedge.link/extension. This will open the WedgeHR Extension page inside your WedgeHR account (you may be asked to log in first).

Click the Install button. This will take you to the right extension store for your browser (Chrome Web Store or Edge Add-ons). From there, click Add to Chrome (or Get in Edge).

Once installed, head back to the WedgeHR Extension page in Settings. The Extension Status section at the bottom of the page will automatically detect your extension.

Step 2: Connect your WedgeHR account

Under Extension Status, you'll see your Chrome Extension (or Edge Extension) listed as Not connected. Click the orange Connect Extension button.

A confirmation dialog will appear asking, "Are you sure you want to connect to the WedgeHR Extension?" Click Connect.

When the connection is successful, you'll see three things happen at once:

  • The status updates to a green checkmark with Connected
  • A toast notification at the bottom confirms "Your Chrome Extension has been connected successfully"
  • A little confetti celebration (because why not)

That's the whole setup. You're ready to go.

Checking your connection status

You can check your extension status anytime at https://wedge.link/extension. The Extension Status section shows one of the following:

Connected (green checkmark). Everything is working. You'll also see a Refresh Connection button if you ever need to re-sync.

Not connected (red icon). The extension is installed but hasn't been linked to your account yet. Click Connect Extension to finish setup.

Connected to a Different Account (yellow warning icon). The extension is currently linked to another WedgeHR account. This can happen if you manage multiple accounts. Click Connect Extension to link it to the account you're currently logged into. This will update the connection without affecting your other account.

If you have multiple extensions installed

If you have both the Chrome and Edge extensions active in the same browser, WedgeHR will detect both and show each under Extension Status, with its own connection state.

You'll also see a yellow warning banner at the top of the status section:

Multiple Extensions Installed We recommend uninstalling one of the extensions to avoid conflicts.

Each extension can be managed independently. Connected extensions show a Refresh Connection button. Extensions that aren't connected show a Connect Extension button.

To fix this, uninstall the one you don't need. Type chrome://extensions    in your address bar (or edge://extensions    in Edge) to manage your installed extensions.

You only need one active WedgeHR Extension per browser.

Setting up during onboarding

If your team uses the WedgeHR Extension with an ATS integration, you may see a Get Connected page during your initial account setup. This is the fastest way to link the extension.

Click Connect WedgeHR Extension, then click Connect in the confirmation dialog. Once connected, you'll see a "Connected!" confirmation with a Continue button to proceed with setup.

If you're not ready to set up the extension yet, click Skip. You can always connect it later from Settings > Integrations.

If you see a warning that says "Your Extension is currently connected to a different account," click Connect WedgeHR Extension to update the connection to your current account.

Troubleshooting

I installed the extension, but the status still says "Not connected." Try refreshing the Integrations page in WedgeHR. If the status doesn't update, click the puzzle piece icon in your browser toolbar, click on WedgeHR Extension, and make sure it has access to the site.

I see "Connected to a Different Account." This usually happens when you've used the extension with another WedgeHR account. Click Connect Extension to link it to your current account. This won't affect your other account's data.

I see a "Multiple Extensions Installed" warning. You likely have both the Chrome and Edge versions of the WedgeHR Extension active. Uninstall the one you don't need by visiting chrome://extensions    or edge://extensions   . You only need one.

I connected the extension, but it doesn't seem to work on my ATS. Not all ATS platforms are supported yet, but we're always adding more. Check the WedgeHR Extension Supported Sites article for the current list. If yours isn't listed, reach out to us. It usually only takes a few days to add support.
