Interview Settings

Once your interview is created, Interview Settings is where you fine-tune how it works for your candidates and your team. You can get here by selecting any interview and clicking Interview Settings.

There are four tabs: Details, Invites, Recording, and Sharing. Here is what each one does and when you might want to change it.

Quick reminder: After making changes on any tab, click Save Changes in the bottom right corner. Nothing saves automatically.

Details

This is where you manage the basics of your interview.

Enable Interview - This toggle controls whether candidates can access and record for this interview. When it is on (orange), the interview is live. When it is off (grey), candidates who click the link will see a message that the interview is unavailable.

This is useful when you have finished hiring for a role but want to keep the interview and its candidates on file. You do not need to delete anything. Just toggle it off.

Interview Name - This is the name candidates will see when they open the interview. Keep it simple and recognizable. Something like "Lifeguard" or "Customer Service Rep" works well.

Brand - If your organization uses multiple brands in Wedge, select the one that should appear on this interview. Candidates will see the logo, colors, and branding tied to whatever brand you choose here.

If you only have one brand set up, it will be selected by default.

Multiple Brands are only available on the Enterprise plan. If you're on the Core or Pro plans and want to try Multiple Brands, reach out to your success team or email success@wedgehr.com.

Interview Properties - These are custom fields (like Team and Location) that help you organize interviews across your account. Your account Owner or Admin sets up the available properties, and you assign the right values here. This is especially helpful if your team hires across multiple departments or locations.

Direct Access (only available on the Pro and Enterprise plans) - Use this to give specific team members access to this interview. Anyone added here can invite candidates and review their responses, even if they do not have broader account access.

Remove and Duplicate - At the bottom of the Details tab, you will find two more options:

  • Remove - archives the interview and all associated candidate data from your account. Use this carefully.
  • Duplicate - creates a copy of the interview with the same settings. This is a fast way to set up a similar role without starting from scratch.

Invites

This tab controls how candidates receive and interact with interview invitations.

Invite Template - Choose which email or text template candidates receive when you send them an invite. Your account comes with a built-in default, but you can create custom templates to match your tone and branding.

Expiration - Set a time limit on how long candidates have to complete their interview after being invited. If you are hiring on a tight timeline, setting an expiration (like 3 or 7 days) can help keep things moving. If timing is flexible, you can leave this set to "No Expiration."

Open Invitations - When enabled, this creates a shareable link that anyone can use to record an interview, without needing a personal invite from you first.

This is great for:

  • Posting on job boards or social media
  • Including in automated emails you send from your ATS
  • High-volume roles where you want every applicant to complete a Wedge interview

When Open Invitations is turned on, you will see a few additional options:

  • Multiple Invites allows a candidate to record more than one interview using the same link. This is helpful for staffing agencies or roles where candidates may want to re-record over time.
  • Invite Frequency sets how often a candidate can use the Open Invitation link to record (for example, once every 7 days).
  • Invitation Link is the actual URL you will share. You can customize the slug to match the role or your organization, and copy it or generate a QR code directly from this screen.

Recording

This tab controls the candidate's recording experience.

Retakes - When this is on, candidates can re-record their answer to any question before submitting. This is enabled by default and most teams keep it on. It helps candidates put their best foot forward, which means better responses for you to review.

Intro Optional - If you have added an intro video to your interview, this toggle lets candidates skip it and go straight to the questions. Turning this on can speed up the process for candidates who are already familiar with your team or the role.

Interview Playlist - Select which set of questions this interview will use. If you have created multiple playlists, you can swap them here without rebuilding the interview.

You can also click the Interview Playlist button at the bottom of this tab to jump directly to your playlist and make edits.

Sharing

This tab has one setting, and it is an important one.

Public Share Link - When enabled, this lets you share a link to a candidate's completed interview with anyone, even people who do not have a Wedge account. The viewer will be able to watch the candidate's responses, but they will not be able to take any actions inside Wedge.

This is perfect for:

  • Sharing interviews with hiring managers who are not set up in Wedge yet
  • Getting quick feedback from stakeholders without asking them to create an account
  • Keeping the review process moving when not everyone is logged in
