Getting started with WedgeHR
You're here because you want to screen candidates faster, skip the scheduling back-and-forth, and learn more about people earlier in the hiring process.
Most teams are inviting candidates within 30 minutes of signing in.
This guide shows you how.
How WedgeHR works
WedgeHR helps your team screen candidates using on-demand video interviews. Candidates record short responses on their own time. Your team reviews them when it's convenient.
Here's the flow:
- You create a short interview with a few questions.
- You invite candidates by email, text, or shareable link.
- Candidates respond on any device. No account, app, or download needed.
- Your team reviews responses, leaves internal feedback, and moves the right people forward.
You can go deeper later with question playlists, integrations, and collaboration tools. None of that is required to start.
Your fastest path to value
If you do three things today, start here.
Create your first interview
This is where everything begins. You'll add a short introduction, choose your questions, and set response rules like time limits and retakes.
Most great interviews take 10 to 15 minutes for candidates to complete and use 3 to 5 questions.

Invite candidates
Once your interview is live, send it to candidates right away. You can use email, text message, or a shareable link that works anywhere you recruit.
Candidates click the link and start recording. No passwords, no scheduling.
Review and decide
As candidates complete their interviews, responses appear in your dashboard. You'll see video recordings, AI-generated summaries, and transcripts for each candidate.
Most teams review interviews between meetings and make decisions the same day.
Choose your setup path
"I just want to start screening candidates."
Follow the Getting Started articles in order. You can be live today.
This path works well if you're hiring hourly or frontline roles, moving fast, or not using an ATS yet.
"We already use an ATS."
Start in WedgeHR first. Get comfortable with the workflow, then connect your ATS when you're ready.
Many teams begin this way. The ATS integration is optional at first and unlocks more automation once you add it.

What a strong first week looks like
You don't need a perfect setup. You need momentum.
By the end of your first week, aim for:
- One interview created and published
- Candidates invited within the first day
- Responses reviewed within 24 to 48 hours
- One small improvement based on what you see (question wording, intro copy, or invite timing)
If that's happening, you're on track.

Common questions
Do I need to invite my whole team right away? No. Start solo or with one reviewer. You can add teammates anytime.
Can I change my interview after sending invites? Yes. Nothing is locked. Edits apply to future candidates.
Do candidates need special equipment? A phone or computer with a camera. That's it.
Do I need to connect my ATS first? No. Many teams get full value without one.
