Invite Candidates

Once your interview is live, getting it in front of candidates takes seconds. There's no scheduling. Candidates click a link, record on their own time, and your team reviews when it's convenient.

This is where Wedge starts saving you real time.

How it works

You send out interview invites. Candidates receive a link. They complete the interview on any device. That's the entire process.

You can invite as many candidates as you'd like. The experience is the same.

Choose how to invite

When you're choosing how to invite a candidate, you want to meet candidates where they're at. That means using the candidate's preferred method of communication, whether that's email or SMS texts.

Email invites

When inviting candidates via email, Wedge sends the invite directly from the platform with a link to the interview.

  1. Open the interview you want to invite candidates to.
  2. Click Invite.
  3. Enter the candidate's email address.
  4. Click Send Invite.

Only Pro and Enterprise plans support text message (SMS) invites. More about SMS invites →

Use Open Invitation Links when you want to send an interview link to a candidate outside of Wedge and without an integration.

Anyone with the link can complete the interview.

  1. Open the interview.
  2. Go to Interview Settings > Invites.
  3. Copy the Open Invitation Link.

You can customize this link to include your company and role name instead of the default random string.

Tip: Paste your Open Invitation link into ATS email sequences, job board auto-replies, or QR codes at hiring events. One link works everywhere.

Using the Wedge Extension

If you've installed the Wedge Extension for Chrome or Edge, you can invite candidates directly from inside your ATS without switching tabs.

What candidates experience

Candidates see a clean, branded page with your introduction and questions. They record responses one at a time.

They do not need:

  • An account or login
  • A password
  • An app download

A phone or computer with a camera is all they need.

Reminders increase completion rate

Wedge sends automatic follow-up reminders to candidates who haven't completed their interview. These are polite, spaced-out nudges that keep candidates moving without extra work from your team. Reminders are on by default.

Tips for higher completion rates

  • Keep interviews under 7 questions total.
  • Set clear expectations in your intro (how many questions, how long it takes).
  • Use friendly, direct language in your invite emails.
  • Allow retakes so candidates feel comfortable.
  • Consider SMS invites if you're hiring for hourly or frontline roles. Text messages tend to get faster responses.
